How to choose

  • Short on time, or your first day in Georgia: Mtskheta. It fits into half a day and leaves the evening free.
  • Mountains and big views: Kazbegi. It is the longest day and depends on the weather over the Jvari Pass, so keep a spare day in winter.
  • Wine, small towns and an easier pace: Kakheti. Less climbing and more time sitting down, with the Caucasus on the horizon on clear days.
  • Two in one day: Mtskheta combines well with Kazbegi, because the road north passes close by. Kakheti and Kazbegi lie in opposite directions and do not fit into one day.

Want your own route instead of a set trip? Book a private driver for the day. Staying on the coast? See Batumi tours.

Driver or guide: what you get

Your driver speaks English, drives, waits and helps with the logistics of the day. A guide explains the history and leads you around the sites. They are different jobs, and the driver is not automatically a guide.

If you would like a guide as well, ask when you request a quote and we will arrange one for your date.

Day trip questions

Are these group tours?

No. Each trip is a private car for your group only, with no other passengers.

Which day trip works best in winter?

Mtskheta and Kakheti run all year. Kazbegi is beautiful in snow, but the Jvari Pass can close after heavy snowfall, so plan it with a spare day.

Do you pick up from hotels and apartments?

Yes, from any address in Tbilisi. Send the address or a map pin with your request.

Yes. Tell us what you want to add or skip when you request the quote, and the plan and price will reflect it.
